Synopsis:

Katrina Mahoney lives in Western Sydney, Australia. She has a very full life attending university to study a law degree, training for triathlons and now she is working part time as well. She couldn't possibly find time for a relationship, especially after her last one ended so catastrophically.

Right now she is content focusing on work, study and training while hanging out with her best friend David Taylor, a womanizer with a heart of gold that would do anything for Katrina – except watch her get hurt again.

That is, until the dashing Elliot Roberts, a junior solicitor from her work, shows an interest in her despite their office’s ‘No Dating’ policy.

Katrina struggles with following her heart or following her mind and has trouble seeing where her heart truly lies in this gripping romantic drama.

My Opinions:

*3.5 Stars*
When I first saw this book by Lilliana Anderson, I was really excited to get started on this story after reading such an amazing series that she has written about Damien and Henrietta. However, this book was nothing like what I expected to see since I was a little disappointed with the characters at the end of this book.

Katrina Mahoney was still recovering from her relationship with her first boyfriend after such a tragic event had happen to her; however, two years later, she decided to get a job where she was able to pay for her school tuition and getting her mind off her boyfriend. However, working at the library of a big company where there's a no-dating policy with a handsome, eye catching junior solicitor was in no part of her plan until through many occurrence of them meeting allowed Katrina to fully understand her feelings toward Elliot, unfortunately, Katrina's best friend, David, does not condone with her having a relationship that is hidden from work which is kept so privately from everyone around her and this force their friendship to start going downhill. I've got to say that I really like Katrina's character and her feistiness where she doesn't take BS from anyone. It is in those female lead character that make me enjoy the book that I am reading.

Elliot Roberts worked as a junior solicitor for quite some time and kept strictly to the rules of the office where he doesn't flirt with any of his employees and keep everything business like until he met Katrina and everything about his work ethics begin to start changing. However, juggling between keeping the job that he's been working for so long and the only girl that he's fallen so hard for was one of the hardest decision that Elliot had to make until an event that help made his decision so much easier yet very sad to handle his part. OMG!! I love Elliot so much and more than half of this book was mostly talking about Katrina and Elliot however at about 88%-89% everything started to talk on another turn for both of these two people. I mean I understood why she left him but like if the two characters that you developed so well in a story was not going to end up together then the changing should have started around 50% so that there is actually more development towards the actual male character that the female protagonist would be together with in the end. I felt that the author was trying to rush the ending a little bit which make it a little frustrating for me at first. I guess what Elliot said about Katrina was true how she would have left him for David even if that event with Elliot's father did not happen because every time she was together with Elliot, her mind would be somewhere else like she wasn't even there.

Overall, I enjoy this book but I don't know if I am able to read the two book with thinking about how great Elliot and Katrina would have been together if that event has not happen, so I don't know if see a happily ever after for Elliot would make me very happy after what has happened in the first book.
