A Harmless Little Ruse (Harmless #2) By: Meli Raine

Genre: New Adult, Suspense, Thriller, Romance

Ratings: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Synopsis:

She has no idea what she’s doing. Loose cannons never hit their targets.

And they take out plenty of collateral damage.

Four years ago Lindsay experienced the unspeakable right before me, and I couldn’t stop them.

But that’s all changed now.

When her father, Senator Bosworth, contacted me to ask — demand — that I protect her, it was a second chance. A shot at redemption.

An opportunity to right an unspeakable wrong.

Controlling Lindsay as she seeks her revenge on the monsters who hurt her won’t be hard.

Containing my own out-of-control feelings for Lindsay and keeping up this ruse of cold-blooded distance will be.

Even harder than admitting to her what really happened that night four years ago.

It turns out I don’t have to, though.

Someone else did it for me.

And I’ll make sure they regret it.

My Opinions:

*4.5 Stars*
OMG . . . that cliffhanger . . . I'm definitely going to have to start the last and final book after this review because holy I have to know what happens. Meli Raine wrote such an amazing story in the point-of-view of Drew.

Drew still remain that top security of Lindsay's safety until something happen when he saw Blaine Maisri again talking with Lindsay's father and that was when tragedy strikes. After what had happen, Drew was now fired and placed far far away from Lindsay only to let the readers know that he also has some dark dark secret that he is trying to hide. I love reading this story in Drew's POV and it was really interesting to see his true feelings toward Lindsay. I love his protective side for Lindsay and not like those possessive alpha male that I've been reading because he knows when he has reached the limit. Everything was fine until the secrets that he has been keeping for four years suddenly came out and there's only one person that he's afraid of knowing . . .

Lindsay is not afraid of what has yet to come her way. Yes, she was a rape-victim but four years at a mental institution not only heal her but also taught some new techniques. She won't be like a scared teenager girl she was when she was cast away to that island. The new Lindsay will not only stand up for herself but also her family and the people close to her. I love Lindsay's character even more in this book and tbh this series gets better as the books continue with the romance and the thrill that Meli puts and each pages because you don't know when something with happen to these two characters. One page they are two love birds and then the next they are put in a life and death situation.

Well, I'll wrap this up by saying that when you finish this book, you definitely have to have the third book ready.

Where to get this book?
