Synopsis:

A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.

There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she’s smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She’s learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.

But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.

A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.

She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.

With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

*A modern love story inspired by Pride and Prejudice*

My Opinions:

*5 Stars*
My second book by Ilsa Madden-Mills and I think I am completely in love with her writing after reading this amazing book. Declan and Elizabeth are the best damaged couples that I've read about in forever. I really wish that I could experience reading this book over again.

Elizabeth Bennett experienced such a tragic event on the day that was supposed to be her best after winning prom queen and being congratulated by everyone to be completely rejected and being called a slut by the people that she thought was suppose to be her friends. Two years later, attending a college in her hometown, she became a girl that only plays by the rules that she created so that she would never be hurt by anyone again. That is until she met Declan Blay, her next door neighbor and the popular college boy, . . . I love Elizabeth's character and how this book revolved around the story of Pride and Prejudice. After Elizabeth faced the tragic event, she became a character that was solely independent of everyone which made me enjoy this story so much. She is such a talent person with all her jewelry making and creative drawings.

Declan Blay being the oldest twin brother had always cared for his two minute younger brother, Dax, because they were the sons of a father that doesn't really love them. Their mother only had a casual relationship with their father, but he never loved her so when he found out that she was pregnant with twins, he wanted her to have an abortion because he doesn't want the children. So after the death of his mother, Declan became the protector of Dax from his father's abusive act. Declan has been living such a damaged life ever since he was just a little boy until one day when he met the also damaged Elizabeth Bennett and everything that he thought was possible became impossible with her. I love how Declan and Elizabeth were both so knowledgeable with the story of Pride and Prejudice. Declan was so protective of Elizabeth and I love it so much because when she left him, he would leave her alone for a while until finally he realized that it was time to grovel up and go to her if she doesn't go to him.

Overall, this was a great read and I would definitely purchase the paperback version of this book so that I can have it on my bookshelf and I can't wait to dive into Dax's story.
