My Opinions:

*4.5 Stars*
This was my first book by Ilsa Madden-Mills and also my first football romance even though there wasn't much sports involved in the story which made me a little disappoint because I wanted to actually see the player playing the sports and there was only a small section that actually involved the player and his sports. However, the rest of this book dealt with the characters dealing with their problems and how those problems were to be solved.

Delaney Shaw has been dating a football player during her first two years of college until one event that led to their break-up which made Delaney sworn off dating athletes until she started talking to Maverick Monroe, the star player of the football team. I love Delaney's character and how strong/ independent she is. She doesn't need a guy in her life after her experience with such a cheater her first boyfriend was. This was until an anonymous person texted her on Valentine's Day when she was watching TV and snuggling with her cat that caught her off guard. After receiving such a text, Delaney was determined to find out who this anonymous person was that texted her, but as they started texting more and more, Delaney found out that this was the only person that she could connect with and she could talk to him whenever she wanted to without having to act all high and mighty.

Maverick Monroe, the star football player, first laid his eyes on Delaney Shaw at a freshman party when he first stole her kiss saying that the kiss would cause her to remember him for the rest of her life. This kiss led Maverick to think about Delaney almost all the time however, after her first kiss with Maverick, she started dating his teammates and there was a rule that "you can't go after your teammate's girl," so Delaney was off limits to Maverick until she broke off with Alex, her football boyfriend. And so the story of Maverick and Delaney begins. . . I love Maverick's character so much even though he was the star player in this school he wasn't all cocky and tried to get what he want when he can't get it. I really love reading these types of sports romance where the athlete has to slowly get to know the girl before he asked her out. Even though there wasn't many involvement in Maverick's football life because it was off season but there was involvement elsewhere when he held to find money to help his sister. I also love the caring character he was towards his sister after the tragic events that happened to his family.

Overall, this book was a great reads and I can't wait to have the paperback version in my hand and on my bookshelves. I also can wait to discover more of Ilsa Madden-Mills' books.
