Synopsis:

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up
— she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

My Opinions:

*5 Stars*
Holy, this book blew my mind and now, I don't know what I am suppose to do. The relationship between Lily and Ryle is just so sad and so depressing to read and get pass. Colleen Hoover really does know how to stab a person in the heart with just a book and some characters in it.

Lily was such an independent character and I really loved how she could decide her life on her own and wasn't like her mother. I really appreciate her as a character of this book and how she does not put up with any of Ryle's stuff. I was really happy for Lily when she decided to open and flower shop called Lily Blooms and made it a theme like no other regular flower shop.

Ryle is a doctor at a hospital which was where he met Lily and where first told her that he wanted her in his bed however what he said did not get to Lily but they kept on meeting each other unexpectedly throughout the beginning of the book, so that was how their relationship beginning of the book. Near the middle of the story when everything begin to develop, Ryle totally changed into a different person causing me to dislike him more and Lily still put up with his act however at on point this story begin to take on a different turn when Lily's first love, Atlas, came back . . .

Atlas, OMG can I just take a moment to say that I never thought I would like an ex so much. He was such a swoony character and I started to want to read more about him through Lily's journal more and more just so that I could get more of Atlas. He was there for Lily in her past and present when she need her the most and I really appreciate him for that. I love how he would not give up on her even when he knew what was happening and how he stilled wanted to be with her even through all the sad moments.

My second Colleen Hoover is definitely going to make me start my Colleen Hoover collections.
