Synopsis:
Brinley Dawson doesn’t drink, she studies—and despite the accusations of her alcoholic mother, she’s still a virgin. But if Brinley’s life is so put together, why is she freaking out to be going to college with the gorgeous, green-eyed jerk she kissed on a stupid dare in high school? Ryder Briggs can have any girl he wants . . . and the rumors say that he does. So why, after publicly embarrassing Brinley four years ago, is he suddenly acting like he’s interested?
Ryder never forgot Brinley. In fact, those perfect seven minutes permanently raised the bar for what a kiss could be. The truth is, Ryder doesn’t dare get too close to anyone. He knows how that worked out for his parents. But when his roommate takes a shot at Brinley, Ryder can’t contain his jealousy. Now he must do the hardest thing he’s ever done: forget about sex and convince Brinley his feelings are real.
Brinley isn’t sure whether she believes Ryder, but for the first time, her body isn’t playing by the rules. Then she discovers that she’s an unwilling part of a cruel game, humiliating her all over again—and Ryder might be to blame. Has Brinley’s little crush turned into a huge mistake . . . or has she found the one guy worth trusting with her heart?
My Opinions:
*4.5 Stars*
Holy crap, Renita Pizzitola wrote such an amazing and angsty book between two characters that I've been wanting to read for such a long time. I've been craving a book that was just like this where one character try his or her best to convince the other person that they truly love him or her.
Brinley Dawson has a huge grudge against Ryder Briggs ever since high school and never wants to see him again; however when she met him at a party, things start to take on another turn. Brinley is such an amazing female protagonist and I love her so much for how she ignored Ryder at the beginning of the story, but as the story continue on, feelings started to spark between these two characters and now Brinley has to decide if Ryder is the man that she would give her virginity to . . .
Ryder Briggs is my man, I love him for who he is and what he did in order for Brinley to trust him. Oh, how he change from a playboy to committing on a serious relationship with Brinley. I love how he would not admit that they were in a relationship at the beginning of the book because he was not ready and felt that it wasn't right to start a relationship even though he like her. I also love the twist at the near end of the story because of that I was able to see how much Ryder loved Brinley and he would do anything for her. His roommate, Nate, was a character that I wanted to jump into the book and punch him so hard that he would start to bleed because at the beginning of the book, he acted like he wanted Brinley to be his girlfriend however as the story progressed, I've noticed that every girl he hooked up with was like a game for him to win some points and that Brinley was one of those girls that would totally boosted his status.
Can I get a happily ever after with these two character? Or can I get a book in Ryder's POV? More of Ryder's one night stand popping up and causing more conflict? This was such an awesome read and I've been binge reading it but I didn't want it to just end because of how much I loved it and it was just to short.
