Just One Kiss By: Jami Wagner

Genre: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Ratings: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Synopsis:

He kissed me.
I slapped him.
That's the last time I thought about Ethan.
Now he’s back, and screw him—he isn't allowed to break my heart and then show up years later looking like July in a fireman’s calendar and ruining my chances at running the Black Alcove bar. Nope. I have plans and they don’t include him.

I tried to forget her.
I failed.
The moment I saw Kelsey again I knew I was doomed.
I have one task while I’m here, and having her one breath away makes me forget how to be the responsible man I’ve worked so hard to become.

My Opinions:

*4 Stars*
I've been put into a reading slump for a few days and every time I decided to pick up a book, I felt like the synopsis is not good enough and I made me just want to skim to the ending to see what happens after or to see the part that makes me feel the most anxious. This book however got me out of a reading slump right away, I was stuck to this book ever since the first page. Jami Wagner is definitely an author that I want to read more books from.

Kelsey Brian only has one more semester left in college until she can finally earn her degree in accounting just so that she can make her father proud of what she did, but the one and only degree that she wanted to graduate in was writing however that would go against her goal of making her father proud. Working in the bar of her best friend and housesitting for her parents, Kelsey found that these way would help her pay off her college tuition. However, when her best friend, Sara, decided to leave her store for a year so that she can have a trip to go to France, Sara has to find a temporary boss for the store and who is the best person to call other than Ethan, one of her cousin and the one who stole a kiss from Kelsey. I love the relationship between Sara and Kelsey, it felt so real when I was reading this book and I really want to have a friendship like that where your friends come to your rescue when you need them.

Ethan Connelly came to the Black Alcove to help out his cousin when she is away on her trip to France so he would be the temporary boss for a year; however, the only reason he is assigned to go there and help was because he wanted his father to be proud of him and he is on mission to get accepted. I found that Ethan's father is really annoying and I really want tie him down and place a towel in his mouth so that he wouldn't be quiet and stop calling Ethan so that he can get what he wanted. After Ethan saw Kelsey for the first time after seven years of kissing her, he has to make a choice of wanting to be with Kelsey or be approve by his father. Throughout this story, I was able to see how back and forth he was between this two decisions and it became really repetitive. However, it was a story that I wanted to read with a trope that I am really interested in and the small angstiness that I wanted. I love going back and forth between the POV of Ethan and Kelsey in this book.

Overall, this was a really good book and I enjoy almost everything in this book; however, I kind of predicted the outcome of what would happen after they did what they did by no trusting each other and not willing to share their secrets. Also, I am not usually a person to care about the grammar in a book because in a book, there is about 10,000 - 100,000 or more words and the author could make a few mistakes, but OMG this book has so many errors that at some parts it was so hard to put two and two together to make the sentence work which made it really frustrating for me to read and try to understand.

Where to get this book?
