Synopsis:

Mackenzie Brooks is everything I've ever wanted.

Three years ago, she walked out of my life. No explanation. Just gone.

With the biggest fight of my career only weeks away, she walked back in.

I'll do anything to protect her. Destroy anyone who tries to hurt her. When it comes to Mac, there isn't a line I won't cross.

I've loved her my entire life, and now that's she's back I won't let her go.

She refuses to speak about the past, or the secrets I know she's hiding.

I know she's planning on running again. But when you love someone, you stay and fight. Even if you're fighting blind.

My Opinions:

*5 Stars*
OMG!!! This is my first C.M. Seabrook's book and the first time I've ever ever cried in books. TBH, I don't know why but even if a story was really sad like "It Ends With Us" By: Colleen Hoover I would never cry, but a short story like this between two characters coming back together and reflect on their past and the events that happen in the present day made me really sad yet afraid for what has yet to come for them.

Mackenzie Brooks has a past that she is afraid to tell anyone and the reason why she was on the run for the past 3 years until one day when she shows up at Theo's gym room. Throughout the three years of running, Mackenzie's life has gone from being so right to being so wrong because she is now not like most of the main female characters that I've seen because she lives in a homeless women shelter, wears the same clothes everyday even when she has a little baby girl, and when she found Theo, she does not want anything that he would offer her since she isn't as low as to go beg someone for money when she can work for it. When I read this part, OMG I was on the verge of tears because three years ago, she had a best friend and a family to rely on however things started to change when she lost something that her step-father has requested for her to do and being afraid that he would find her and put an end to her life, so the only thing that Mackenzie felt was safe for the people she loved was that it was time for her to up and go far away from everyone even Theo . . .

Theo opened a gym to train wrestlers because his contract stated that being in one fight every few months is enough for him to making a living out of it and when he retired, he does not have to worry about retirement money because it would all be covered. However, his life slowly started to change when Mackenzie, the only person that he ever loved so deeply, decided that it was time to walk back in. I love the playboy type of character that Theo had, but when there is an involvement of Mackenzie Brooks his life slowly starts to change so that he can coop and bring her back into his life. Keep in mind that she ran away from him three years ago without an explanation and now decided that she can come back in would make him even more angry but at the same time, he does not want to lose her again and I love that aspect so much because he would fight through all the problems that they have and continue loving her.

OK, so this was an amazing book and I have to say that it is my third favorite reads after "The Deal" and "Redemption" because nothing will top those two books. However, the only like that I'm not happy with this book was that it was too short and I wish it was like 400 more pages just so that I can read more about the relationship between Theo and Mackenzie, but nevertheless there is still another book revolving around Moody and I'm excited to read it.

Where to get this book?
